STVM is one of 18 secondary schools and three universities under Marianist sponsorship in the United States.

The Marianists, also know as the Society of Mary, were founded by Blessed William Joseph Chaminade in 1817. As a Marianist-sponsored school, our Catholic faith shapes the way we teach, learn, serve, and care for one another. Five Characteristics of Marianist Education guide the experience of every student. We draw inspiration from Mary, the perfect model of discipleship. 

Marianist education is not simply about teaching students about faith. It is about creating a culture where faith can be encountered and lived every day - in the classroom, on the field, in service, in prayer, and in the relationships that make our school a family. In  Marianist education, we don't just teach students what to believe, rather, we invite them to discover who they are, whose they are, and how they can use their gifts to make a difference in the world.

Educating for the formation of faith and with a family spirit are key elements of the Marianist mission and our Catholic, Marianist tradition guides everything we do at St. Vincent-St Mary High School.
